    Weekend Relaxation

There's nothing better than relaxing on the weekend!

I’ve finally made it to the weekend and it’s the first one in a long time that I’m not running around doing errands or catching up with distant friends in town. I have been anticipating this weekend all week long like I’m sure you have too. And I’m proud to say that I’ve fully prepared for this weekend as well.

How is that? Well I’ve already planned next week. I have set some small personal and professional goals for myself to be done by Sunday evening. I’m able to sit back and contemplate the work I’ve done for my clients and what work I want to do for them in the near-term.

I cannot express enough how we all need to slow down from time to time. I didn’t schedule a THING this weekend yet I told myself what I want to do. It’s absolutely amazing. I could not feel as good as I do right now without my forethought!

You are probably thinking I’m somewhat of a loon right now for saying this but when you think of preparation as a task and not a chance to procrastinate you really do get great things done.
From a Media Strategies standpoint I get to take advantage of slow news days and get my clients some extra airtime. The weekends are great for work, relaxation and enjoyment.

I’ll catch up with you on Monday. Until then – enjoy the rest of your weekend!

    Talk to Anyone Who'll Listen

Get in the habit of talking. Even if now you're a talking head - at least you're on the right track!

My family is good at many things but collectively we are known for being vocal about our opinions. It’s a part of the glue that binds us and the salt in some of our wounds. It is also a habit of perseverance and success.

Aristotle once said that excellence is not an act but rather a habit. It’s what we repeatedly do that tends to define us. So while in a single post I cannot coach you on what you might be saying, I can encourage you to at least keep talking.

Think about it, who will know what you do and who you are if they cannot hear you because you’re not talking?

For those of you with a grasp on social media and networking I implore you to keep talking and for those not in tune with social media or networking: write your thoughts down!

You can always refine your message, grammar or words but developing a habit is a milestone.

I am finally having a relaxing weekend starting today! I might even update between now and Monday. Take care everyone!

Making money just like advertising - only through Twitter.

Are these companies the future or just weeds popping up everywhere?

I noticed a trend today popping up on Google searches. Sponsored Tweets of Orlando is a company that brokers ad deals between Twitter users and those looking for promotion. The concept is rather simple:

    1. Register with a Company like Sponsored Tweets or Ad.ly
    2. Tweet messages from sponsors like 1-800-Flowers.com
    3. Notate your tweet with “(ad)” or “#ad” to comply with FTC Rules
    4. Get paid for each Tweet and more for each click-through

Ad.ly is already cash-flow positive. Considering the relative low overhead costs with such operations its easy to see that everyone will want to be in this business. Celebrities are cashing in like Kim Kardashian and lesser known LeVar Burton. The only question that has yet to be seen is just what sort of value this blatant Twitter advertising will hold years into the future?

Facebook has already been bogged for a couple of years with “Be the 1st to WIN a NEW …” and Facebook has not lost it’s appeal to people looking to network. Money is flowing but if you aren’t actively using Twitter you have nothing to gain.

Just as with news online today – the content you may be used to receiving will now be wrapped around with ads and promotions. Pay-Per-Tweeting is probably here to stay. There’s one HUGE fact to remember before considering such services to advertise: Twitter is FREE to use. So long as you can engage people on your own, there’s no need to pay for someone else to be socially mentioning you. It doesn’t hurt but such things never pay for bills on their own.

Pay-Per-Tweeting is big money for large brokers and decent change for the rest of us.

I’ll see you on Friday yet again!
